About This Tool
Split a PDF into smaller files directly in your browser. Choose custom page ranges, make fixed-length groups, extract individual pages, or set a maximum output size. Preview pages before splitting and download each result or a ZIP archive. Files are processed on your device.
How to split a PDF
- Select a PDF or drag it into the tool.
- Choose Range, Pages, or Size. For custom ranges, enter the first and last page and add more ranges as needed. Fixed mode makes groups with the same number of pages. Pages mode extracts every page or the pages you select. Size mode groups consecutive pages under your chosen limit when possible.
- Select Split PDF, then download individual PDFs or the ZIP file.
Options
- Custom ranges: Each range creates its own PDF. Select “Merge all ranges” to combine them.
- Fixed ranges: Enter the number of pages per file. The last file may be shorter.
- Extract pages: Click thumbnails or enter pages such as 1, 3-5. You can merge the selection into one PDF.
- Size: Set a maximum in KB or MB. If a single page exceeds the limit, increase it. The tool does not compress content.
Privacy and limits
Splitting runs in your browser; the PDF is not uploaded for processing. Available memory and device performance limit very large files. Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked before use. Smart document analysis is not currently available.
